PM Modi's Popularity Remains Strong Despite BJP's Defeat in HP and Karnataka Elections: Reasons Unveiled

The recent assembly elections in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh witnessed the Bharatiya Janata Party's defeat, but it seems to have had no impact on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The latest survey results confirm this fact, highlighting the art of speechmaking as PM Modi's greatest strength. Let's delve into the details and explore the reasons behind his enduring popularity.

PM Modi's Art of Speechmaking Impresses the Masses

According to a survey conducted by the Center for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) and NDTV, covering 19 states and gathering public opinions over 11 days, 25% of the respondents were influenced by PM Modi's skill in delivering speeches. Additionally, 20% of the participants consider him a development-oriented Prime Minister.

PM Modi's Diligence and Charismatic Personality Garner Support

13% of the survey participants regard PM Modi as a hardworking individual, while another 13% are influenced by his charismatic personality. Furthermore, 11% of the respondents appreciate his policies and achievements.

Government's Performance and Public Satisfaction

The survey results reveal that over 55% of the respondents across various domains are content with the government's work. Another 17% expressed complete satisfaction. However, discontentment was observed among 21% of the respondents. Notably, when it comes to the race for the Prime Minister's position, Narendra Modi emerges as the public's first choice, followed by Rahul Gandhi.

Potential Challengers to PM Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

The survey also raised a question regarding who could pose a challenge to PM Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In response, 34% of the participants mentioned Rahul Gandhi, while 11% showed support for Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Additionally, 5% named Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, and 4% mentioned West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Notably, 9% of the respondents believe that no one can pose a challenge to PM Modi's leadership.

Despite the BJP's defeat in the recent state assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity remains intact. The survey findings indicate that his art of speechmaking and development-oriented approach resonate with the masses. As the nation looks forward to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi appears to be the most likely contender to challenge PM Modi's position. However, with his enduring popularity and strong support base, PM Modi remains a formidable force in Indian politics.
