Train Ticket Price: Ahead of Holi, the Indian Railways has given a significant gift to some passengers. According to Zee Business, the Indian Railways has decided to slash train ticket prices by 50%, but the benefit of the reduced train ticket prices will be enjoyed by only a few. Specifically, the Northern Railway has decided to provide up to a 50% discount on train tickets for passengers traveling in second class on Wednesday.



50% Cheaper Tickets on All Trains Heading to Kashmir Valley. According to Zee Business, the decision to reduce train fares in the Kashmir Valley has been made.

How Did Train Tickets Become Cheaper?

Officials from the Northern Railway have informed that a decision has been made to reinstate the normal fare in the passenger trains' second-class coaches in the valley. By reinstating the normal fare for passengers traveling in second-class coaches, there has been a reduction in ticket prices by 40 to 50%.

Relief Will be Applied Across the Valley

Previously, the fare from Sadura Station (Anantnag District) to Srinagar was Rs. 35, but after this relief, it will be reduced to Rs. 15. Officials from the Northern Railway have stated that this relief will be applied across the entire Kashmir Valley. This will provide significant relief to passengers. After COVID-19, there was an increase in train fares. The railway has now approved the pre-COVID regulations throughout the country. This will provide relief to the common people.

Previously, passengers had to pay the fare of an express train for passenger train travel, but now the Indian Railways has reinstated the regular fares for second-class passengers on passenger trains. Express trains are now referred to as Express Special or MEMU Express trains.
